The Warranties in Plain English
System Plus
GAF backs your shingles and qualifying GAF accessories for as long as you own your home. For the first 50 years, a covered manufacturing defect is 100% covered, including replacement materials, installation labor, and tear-off and disposal when needed. It does not cover installation mistakes.
Silver Pledge™
Everything in System Plus, plus GAF-backed coverage for installation errors, including flashings at valleys, dormers, chimneys and plumbing vents, for 10 or 15 years depending on your shingle. If GAF confirms a covered installation error, GAF arranges or pays for the repair.
Golden Pledge®
GAF’s top warranty for most homes, available only from GAF Master Elite® contractors. It requires a complete GAF system with all five accessory types and adds lifetime workmanship coverage, with the first 25 years 100% non-prorated (30 years with Timberline UHDZ® or AS II). As a Master Elite contractor, McGuire Roofing can offer it to clients in Knoxville.
WindProven™ Wind Coverage
When your roof uses GAF LayerLock®-labeled shingles (such as Timberline HDZ®) installed with 4 nails per shingle, plus GAF starter strip, ridge cap and roof deck protection, and either leak barrier or attic ventilation, the shingles get a 15-year wind warranty with no maximum wind speed limit. This covers the shingles only, not the accessories.
Registration & Transfer
McGuire Roofing registers your warranty with GAF. If you don’t receive your warranty documents within 60 days of installation, call GAF at 1-877-423-7663. If you sell your home, the buyer can transfer coverage by emailing ccp@gaf.com with proof of the sale; transfers within the first 20 years keep full coverage.
